John Andreacchio: A Twin's Sunrise
Serenade
Each
year on March 27, John Andreacchio would call his twin
sister, Louise, to sing "Happy Birthday." He used to call
at 6 o'clock in the morning, she recalled. "He tried to
get me before I could get to him."
Mr. Andreacchio knew how to take a joke, and didn't
let pranks affect his loyalty to his family.
He laughed when his niece Jessica Carucci put scotch
tape over his razor, but arrived at the hospital before
she did four years ago when she was in labor with her
son, waiting for her with a wheelchair.
Mr. Andreacchio, a human resources worker for Fuji
Bank on the 80th floor of 2 World Trade Center, lived
with his girlfriend, Fran Lentini.
He grew up in Bensonhurst with his two brothers and
two sisters. In Bergen Beach, Brooklyn, he went horseback
riding with his brother Tony.
"I had a horse named Ajax who was very hard to ride,"
Tony Andreacchio recalled. "John insisted in getting on
him and riding, but he got thrown off in about two
seconds. He had to run away when the horse started to
chase him."
Every year since John Andreacchio was a little boy,
the family gathered in Brooklyn to celebrate the birthday
he shared with his sister. This year, he would have been
53.
