Claude Michael Gann: A Continuing
Honeymoon
Mike
and Robin Gann were still waiting to take their "real"
honeymoon. For their first, in July, they "eloped with
the kids," Ms. Gann said, and went to St. Simons Island
off the coast of Georgia, about 300 miles from their home
in Atlanta.
Both had been married before, and this time they
wanted to make it a family affair. First they went to St.
Simons, where Mr. Gann had spent time growing up, then it
was Disney World.
So it was a honeymoon, and it was not. But a sequel
was planned. "The honeymoon was not over, not over at
all," she said. "We were going to take another one this
April. We were targeting for the south of France."
Claude Michael Gann, who would have turned 42 this
month, was a salesman for Algorithmics, a software
company based in Toronto. He had had many jobs in sales
and finance, but in this one he was starting to feel
settled. "It was in risk management," his wife said. "It
was on a different level than he had had before. He liked
the place he went to, he liked the people he worked
with."
The only thing he did not like about the job was all
the travel. On Sept. 11 he was at the Risk Waters
conference at Windows on the World.
